The impact of condemnation

One of the more frequent ways I receive revelation , warning or guidance is through dreams. This made me to create a section in my prayerbinder for writing down my dreams.

Believe me , it’s so easy for our dreams to be snatched or to forget the details.Sometimes the dreams that I have are very clear  , but most of my dreams needs interpretation and this is the place where I sometimes get stuck.

In this post I’m sharing my experience about a dream I had and how the Holy Spirit mentored me step by step  through the process of interpretation .This dream is directly linked to the reason for this post:The impact of Condemnation.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Dream

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:11

Let look at some definitions of condemnation

To pronounce guilty,To sentence or to declare unfit.(Merriam Webster)

Condemnation comes from the verb condemn, “to strongly disapprove.” You might criticize something that you still think is worthwhile, but if you express condemnation, that’s laying a heavy moral blame. (Dictionary.com)

To pronounce to be utterly wrong; to utter a sentence of disapprobation against; to censure; to blame.(KJV Dictionary)

Which led me to the conclusion

  • To condemn.
  • To give judgment against one
  • to pronounce guilty.
  • To place someone, areas of a person’s life under guilt
  • To sentence
  • Declaring someone guilty
  • To imprison someone

What happened next?

I had this urge to tell her about it and I wanted to do in person, not telephonically. She is teaching at another school in a nearby town.About a month passed and I eventually met her at a workshop last month. After the workshop everyone were racing to their vehicles to get home( most teachers come from remote areas) and I fasten my steps to her asking for a few moments. So I told her about it and she replied that we should ask the Lord about it and that I should contact her when I do hear something from Him.

The interpretation

As she walked away, I was still standing there(waiting for my husband) and thinking about this dream; still wondering what it could mean.

And suddenly a question was dropped in my spirit: What was her position?” And it took me back to the beginning where she was lying, looking like she had been under tremendous weight. My thoughts then were:

  • Something must have caused her to be in this position.
  • Something must have forced or pushed her down.

While I was working through the first section of the dream, the next  question popped up: ” What was your response in the Dream? What did you ask her?”While I jump to the next clue, it began to make sense to me.Words of condemnation must have been the root of her dilemma. Then the Holy Spirit revealed to me that condemnation can paralyze an individual, a situation, a business ,an idea or plans; anything … not protected.

The application

Before I received this revelation, I became very aware( during my prayers) of the spirit of condemnation .When we pray, especially in the spirit, our spirit detects certain things and Holy Spirit shows us how to deal with it.The following are strategies that the Holy Spirit pointed out to me over a period of time.

1.Reject and deny condemning words

People are constantly evaluating our actions, our speech, circumstances: our lives. They say things like:

  • He/She can never succeed
  • (…….) will never make it
  • That idea/business is going down
  • ( Name) will never be more than a (……)

The list will result in a never-ending record of sentences declaring someone guilty or unfit, pressing multiple charges sometimes.I have heard and seen evidence of lastly mentioned bullet .As you know by now, I am a teacher and I believe that a huge part of my kingdom assignment has to do with school and children.I overheard colleuges talking about a retired teacher and what she said about one of her grade 3 students. She said that this girl will not even be fit working as a kitchen maid because she did not perform academically. And today this girl is a young woman and I see the evidence of that teacher’s words.

2.Declare the word of God

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper,And every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn.”

Isaiah 54:17

To declare the word of God is to confront anything opposing the truth of His word over your life or anything else.To decree or declare means taking up the sword of the Spirit and to come in agreement with God so that Heaven can be applied to earth.Scriptural declarations paralyze and condemns anything against the plans and purposes of God for our lives.Whereas condemnation tries to misalign us or , taking us out of the race;whereas declarations

So tell them, “As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say”

Numbers 14:28

I remember how Holy Spirit invited me during the early morning hours to engage with the word of God , prompting me to write it down and to speak it out loudly. We should open our mouths wide against condemnation!

Christ dealt with condemnation.

Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.”

Romans 8 : 34

3.Put on the armor of God

I love to declare this bible verses when putting on the breastplate of righteousness and this is where the Holy Spirit taught me how to pray against condemning words. This is where it started for me!

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:11

4.Watch your own mouth

Crucial one! I should have placed it first in the row.Sometimes people are their own enemies and cause damage and destruction to themselves.Selfcondemnation is another big issue to be alert of.

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips! Psalm 141:3

Mouth Controle

“for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”Matthew 12:37

 5.Scriptures for further reading

For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”

Romans 8:2

” By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

Romans 8 :3-4

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

Romans 8:5

I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

Isaiah 43:25

The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

Psalm 34:22

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God

John 3:18

Conclusion

When I received this revelation, I also received the assignment to pray against condemnation and reverse the effects of it as far as my childhood; maybe even further.I also understand my call to pray for the vulnerable and for the church.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject. Let me know ! A great week to you all💗

  1. There is a time I blamed myself because I woke up and had a dream really believe God had spoken but the details were nolonger in my memory.

Even sometimes during prayer I can receive a power devotional but If I take a lot of time I do forget.

So now I am disciplining myself to jot down things.I afraid I was not being a faithful stewart in that area

    1. Hi there Evedince.
Since 2020 the Lord started to discipline me through journaling.it is a great tool for a visual learner such as me and I believe any book to take notes would be of great asset.

  2. Wow what a liberating message. I for one have been guilty of condemning others by only looking at the outward man. I see how paralyzing it is to someone just as you said in the dream. The interpretation is spot.on whenever I myself feel condemned i don’t even feel like getting out of bed in the morning let alone the house. But then this word comes
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper,And every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn” instead of us being condemned we get to condemn the condemners. In the place of an accusation there is now an intercessor for us our Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah praise God!

    1. Hallelujah👌this was by far the first time I felt very sure of the interpretation.
You are not the only one, Frank.most of us condemn with our eyes and than it goes into our minds …might just travel to our hearts and bear fruit. As long as we can stop it before going into our heart with discernment ..I did that just last week looking at someone….beginning to condemn with my eyes and immediately started to repent.

      1. It is so true well for me I have the gift of discernment so I pick up on people. Sometimes we may feel we are condemning people yet it was the Holy Spirit warning us as what happened to ,e last week I was so disappointed by a member of our church who did sometimes bad. I thought I was condemning them till God just reminded how last year I had some unsure feelings about them even though I barely knew them so I I never got close to them. Today I remembered how months ago I clearly perceived in my spirit. Recently it felt like judging after what happened but now I realize it was all there all along because we have the mind of Christ 1 Cor 2 16. He reveals to us what is hidden so we shouldn’t be too hard on ourselves

  3. Powerful revelation as you were also being called to pray for that Teacher and to rebuke the spirit of condemnation. Sometimes people know what the dream means, but may not feel safe to share with you, which is ok as the revelation is for them. She was definitely under the spirit of condemnation and was probably bound by word curses. We pray and silence the voice of the accuser, casting down imaginations and taking every thought captive! Jesus nailed every debt to the cross, blotting our the handwriting of the ordinances that was written agains us, triumphing over them in him! We are more than conquerors! 🙌🏾🙏🏾

    1. Amen…the accuser is another one to deal with..remember how I write about the quiz about the accusers of that woman that was caught in adultery and how Jesus dealt with them.
