Breaking cycles and Restoration

It was tough on me also…I started of with Mount Ephraim ,but was steered in another direction-the recurring cycle of God choosing a new judge and after his death, everything would change immediately.

Well done to the Strategist, Anneta from Daily Devotionals, who got this tricky one! Tamweary mentioned circle which is also correct, but Holy Spirit pointed out the word CYCLES.

Last week, as I engaged in my morning routine I asked the Holy Spirit guidance : ” What should I be focussing on in prayer at the moment?” That’s it! And the very next day I found the word, cycles.

After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel.Judges 2:10

“And in that day his burden will depart from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck; and the yoke will be broken because of the fat”

Isaiah 10:27

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed”Luke 4:18

Let’s get into the unravelling

A deliverer would rise 

Moses, who was called as a deliverer to free God’s people out of slavery, died and Joshua was called to lead them into the promised land and with his death, something caught my eye.

The structuring of numbers/verses

8 – A new beginning or a new order

Joshua son of Nun,the servant of the Lord, died at the age of a hundred and ten.Judges 2: 8

9 – – Finality or completeness

And they buried him in the land of his inheritance, at Timnath Heres in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.Judges 2:9

10 — Testimony /Law

After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel.Judges 2: 10

Another generation grew up !

Territory and Deliverance through war

Striking down hundreds,
Thousands ; waging war.
Taking back
The city of Palms

This four stage cycle repeats throughout the book of Judges after the judge dies.The timelines of the cycles in each generation differs .

Rebellion

Israel doing what is evil in the sight of the Lord.

Retribution

So easy to gorget 
The mighty hand of God .

Consequences for their sin.  They became slaves, were in bondage, oppressed .

Repentance

Cries from their own hearts,
And fell in oppression again.

The people cry out to God

Restoration

God sends a judge to deliver the Israelites.

Then God would turn His heart 
And pour out His mercy.
Then a deliverer is born, 
Far above the cries , utterances of repentance.           

The anointing breaks the yoke

“But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.”1 John 2:27

This is a prophetic word born out of prayer, fasting and calling unto God for direction. I believe that God is speaking to me and individuals in the body of Christ , making us aware of completed circles and negative cycles .I believe that there are cycles in our lives, in our family’s lives , our workplaces , regions and we need to know when some of it is the completion( circles) or negative ( demonic ) cycles.

I realized while writing this post, that my friend Tam of Carebiblestudy was not wrong when she suggested circles on the POETRY Quizz.I remembered the prophetic word: “Things are coming full circle” during one of my early morning journaling sessions.

These stubborn cycles that keeps repeating itself in our lives, our families , body of Christ and in our communities are not so easy to break.I believe that one should engage in prayer and fasting , spiritual warfare and the declaration of the living word of God.

While I was busy writing about cycles, the following came to my mind:

• The role of the anointing
• The Breaker anointing
• Military warfare Strategy

God called someone, through the ages, to break an evil cycle.

I know I’ve been called to break cycles! What about you!
