Locking into the seasons

Raising July Banners

Arise

Positioning yourself at the gate

Just as I entered the month of July I closely paid attention, because every month is a gate and new beginning to me.There needs to be some shift or transition, because every month comes with a new anointing, promises and assignments.

I thought about Abraham who stationed himself at the gate in the heat of the day and also his nephew , Lot, who was sitting at the gate of the city. And here at the gate, Abraham received revelation and was given an opportunity to intercede for the city where his nephew ,Lot lived.

There are things we can only find at the gates !

Again the Lord appeared unto him in the And he lifted up his eyes, and looked: ..

three men stood by him, and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, …”

Genesis 18:1-2

The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.”

Genesis 19:1

1.1 Receive raw opportunity at the gate

Here at the different gates , in the cases of Abraham and Lot, they received divine insights, revelation and opportunity.

Positioning ourselves at the gates of our day, our month and put us in an advantage in prayer and to receive favor.

And I heard the word: ARISE .

Awake, awake, Deborah! Awake, awake, break out in a song!Judges 5:1

When the word ARISE came up,Deborah was the first character who came to my mind.

Villagers in Israel would not fight;
they held back until I, Deborah, arose,
until I arose, a mother in Israel.God chose new leaders when war came to the city gates,…”

Judges 5: 7-8

Let’s look into the profile of Deborah.(Judges 4-5)

  • a prophetes
  • the wife of Lapidoth
  • She was a jugde in Israel
  • She called herself a mother
  • a military leader
  • a worshipper

Deborah was chosen to be judge during a difficult time in the history of Israel and after the people cried out to God she was mentioned.

Sin

The enemy.Sisera(King Jabin of Canaan)

Repentance of God`s people

Deborah,judge and prophetes

Barak, an army commander

Deborah could discern the times of the Lord.

My July Prophetic Mnemonic

When we pay attention to the times and seasons of God, it leaves us with an advantage. This causes us to know things nobody else is aware of and therefore gives unto us an advancement to receive favor,to intercede and to receive divine revelation.

When I created the above mnemonic, I recognize the prelude as Isaiah 60 , as I finished it ,the tribe of Iscachar was hammering at my heart’s door and after searching for confirmation, I accepted it.

“of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command”

(1 Chronicles 12:32).

The tribe of Iscachar supported Deborah because they understood the times and knew that she was given authority by God, although she was the only woman judge out of the 12.

Scriptures included in mnemonic

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

Isaiah 60:1

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

Isaiah 58:8

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,…”

Ephesians 1:18

Then Jonathan said, “My father has troubled the land. Please look how my eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.1Samuel 14:29

The month of Tammuz is the FOURTH biblical month and it is connected to the eyes and heart. It is a month to be on the lookout for any idols in our heart and to guard our hearts from it.This is also the biblical month in which Moses was up the Mountain of Sinai to receive the two tablets of the law, but also the time when the people of Israel’s eyes went dim from all the waiting and that they decided to turn to an idol.

As I spoke about this issue in our congregation, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that the inability to be able to wait upon the Lord is despair and PRIDE (in King Saul`s case where , instead of waiting, he turned to a medium.)His eyes had become darkened!

Oh, but King David did just the opposite! As he was down in despair or in guilt he would turn to God in worship and repentance and when he felt like God is taking too long, he would prompt Him to answer him and have mercy on him. And he would wait for his eyes to be enlightened.

How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?Look on me and answer, Lord my God.Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,…”

Psalm 13 : 1-3

Scriptural poem:ENLIGHTENS

O Lord, You light up the eyes of both the poor and the oppressor
and there comes a day that even the deaf shall hear( Proverbs 29: 18)
and out of their gloom and darkness,( Proverbs 29:13)
their eyes will see
for the commandment of the LORD enlightens the eyes (Psalm 19:8)
so their eyes are opened and turned from darkness to light(Acts 26:18)
So they will sing:
"He has redeemed my soul from the pit
and my life shall see the light."(Job 33:27)

Writing and exploring the months stemmed from Prayer Journaling. In 2020 I just got up one morning and decided to grab an ordinary notebook, and turned it into a place where I write all my prayers daily. I got up at dawn every morning to sit with the Lord, to listen, ask, seek, knock, wait and trust…This ordinary notebook became an altar of praise and great reveal and I named it Dandelion. Yes! I give my journals a name ,because as insignificant as they may seem, they reflect as legal documents in Heaven’s courts.

May the remaining days of your July days be enlightened with new hope and rays from God’s word. May your eyes be enlightened so you may receive insight and clear instructions and guidance!

  1. Thanks for sharing your journaling journey! I love how God used Deborah, the prophetess to set things in motion. She sat under the tree of Deborah to Judge, to rule and to prophesy and/or to speak for God…but it wasn’t until this woman of God arose, to go with…or one may say- to lead Barak into battle, did Israel receive their strong victory💪🏾

  2. This is an amazing blog and very refreshing read. I was truly blessed by your revelation and insight. I absolutely love Deborah’s profile:
    A prophetess
    the wife of Lapidoth
She was a jugde in Israel
    She called herself a mother
    a military leader
    a worshipper

I love your insight about this new month and the need for us to worship while we wait. Your comparisons between David and Saul are timely reminders. Stay in the spirit and may our eyes and understanding continue to be enlightened.
