A Reflection on my journey

It were cold and dark nights for us here in South Africa during June. Some areas in our country experienced terrible floods and many were left homeless and sadly many lost their loved ones.

But for us living in a semi desert area , the rain was so welcoming and we even had a mild hail storm. After the rain it was even colder, but I had to get up as usual to come before the Lord in prayer, seeking His face and to possess the gates.

Possession of the gates of my day and those I pray for and also the gates over our temple( body) has been a daily prayer activity for me , just as I cloth myself daily with the full armor of God.

My walk/ pace with the Lord is constantly adjusted by the Holy Spirit and I also make time to check on my progress.I write about my journey because I am instructed to write in order to be trained and prepared for His purposes.I am not ( far from) perfect, but I press on; I push my limits and I challenge myself. This post is a short reflection of my journey since January 2022.

The ABC’s of my daily prayer assignments

  • Clothing myself, my loved ones and the body of Christ in our region with the full armor of God.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peaceIn addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Ephesians 6: 14-17

As this might perhaps sound strange to you, I’ve adopted a new dresscode for believers in my radar and started to cloth them weekly with the full armor of God.Sorry to say this,( not all ) MANY are failing in this biblical- and warfare principle…and many therefore are losing the battle and fainted.I know my loved ones apply this principle( even my children), but I mostly pray it over them when I am prompted by Holy Spirit.

  • Guarding our gates

Last year I become intense aware of the gate of my days ,also the gate of every biblical watch and I possessed it daily.

This year the gates over our bodies were added to my prayer list.If our bodies are temples of Holy Spirit ,then we have entry ways( portals) over our bodies.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?

1 Corinthians 6:1

I specifically remembered an incident during a prayer service when a certain woman in our congregation was asked to pray for a young woman. When she started praying,Holy Spirit prompted me to close her gates and the lady stopped praying at the third sentence!

  • Declarations and alignment with the plans of God.
  • Praying for my kingdom assignments and daily instructions.

Before I knew anything about Kingdom Assignments , the Holy Spirit made me aware of my surroundings, my words and other people’s words , etc. : shortly stated mindfulness.Mindfulness plays a huge role in fulfilling our daily assignments and contributes to a successful outcome and progression.

  • Praying over our territories .

I keep a separate section in my prayer journal where I pray and guard over my territories.Journaling helps a great deal in keeping up and in keeping track of what and who I pray for.I also include a report cart( what I call it) where I write down dreams, revelations, answered prayers, observations, discernment, etc.

  • Praying for our youth

Just as the month of June was about to end, a month in which we celebrate youth , a terrible accident broke out in a tavern in the Eastern Cape and about 21 youngsters were killed .Some of these youngsters were just 13 years of age! What seemed to be innocent fun, holiday fun, turned into a tragedy and many parents and families are left with pain.

Our youth’s existence and future is becoming like some plants and animals in our country: Endangered. This calls for the church to deepen into prayer and intercession. It is our responsibility! It is a call for the church to equip the saints in the knowlegde of God.

Prophetic Words I Received

  • March :
  • Break up fallow ground
  • Provision
  • A new sound
  • April
  • Springs of life
  • POUR
  • June
  • Jars and vessels for God
  • The kneading bowl

Recently Holy Spirit dropped in my spirit the word ” kneading bowl” and explained to me that God is preparing to pour out means of daily provision over the lives of those who pour out their hearts in prayer, who waited trustfully and pressed in on His promises.Throughout June , as I continue in journaling , bible study and prayer, the concept of this prophetic word unfolds and I jot every glimpse down in my prayer journal.

And what is so merciful is that the prayers of intersessors cover regions , cities, neighbourhoods , families…as far as your prayer radar stretch and these blessings of God’s provision can be released over it and those in reach!

Objects of God’s blessing: The kneading bowl and the basket

More about The kneading bowl

Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.

Deuteronomy 28:5

Kneading is the squeezing, folding, pressing of the dough before it is baked.

Kneading:

  • Demands effort
  • Demands getting hands on
  • Gives elasticity to the dough
  • Transfer heat
  • Spreading the leaven through the dough

“The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about 60 pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”

Matthew 13:33

The kneading bowl is a wonderful image of :

  • Provision
  • Investing
  • an obedient walk in Christ,
  • a preparation or production of food,
  • a means of asking God to give us our daily bread and partnering with Him .
  • Stretching what we have
  • Our primary efforts

So the people took their dough before it was leavened, with their kneading bowls bound up in the clothes on their shoulders.

Exodus 12:35

  • Necessity
  • Primary source

I started of with the prophetic word: PROVISION for your kneading bowl , and as I engaged in a follow-up on this word, I was stalled. And as I waited for a revelation, I got up early the next week as usual….made coffee and sat down to listen and the word NET suddenly appeared.

Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Luke 5:5

Peter and his crew were struggling through the night; in fact: all night, to catch something. They returned exhausted and empty handed , but at the instruction of Jesus , they went out into the sea again and had a miraculous catch.

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind

Matthew 13:47

great multitude of fishes

And another biblical value was added to my list:

Hope

Trust

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths

Proverbs 3:5,6

Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.”

Deuteronomy.5:33

The secret in the kneading bowl and the net is : OBEDIENCE.

And I came to the conclusion that God wants to pour out His blessing of provision in abundance upon His children/ over regions/cities/nations, but there is some effort involve from our side.Just as the kneading bowl and the net demands effort, sometimes what God provides expect us to apply our effort and energy into it.

Prayer and fasting is the gravitation power that brings what is in heaven to earth.

I also came to the conclusion that these kind of blessings are being passed on to generations and become a generational blessing.

I concluded in my journal with an expression of worship and gratitude.

  1. I agree that we need to put on the whole of God.
Put on means we have to take action to put on by appropriating that blessing which is avalable for believers. Ufortunately for many of us it remains a promise.
We need to live it and put on the whole amour.
Great teaching on possessing the hates

    1. I agree on that it is only a promise like many other promises in God`s word for many.In our region churches are still very ignorant in taking a hold of this promise and activate it.And activating happens in the following verse : “And pray in the Spirit at all times..”
      Thank you.

  2. Thank You for sharing your journey with us. My Wednesday morning Bible study group reviewed how Jesus (the teacher and carpenter) asked the professional fishermen to go back out to sea to let down their net when they were exhausted…but because they were obedient…Jesus filled those nets more abundantly than they could have imagined💕
