joyfully with endurance
I realized that previously
My baskets were filled
effortless, and was whispered
Through my ear gates,
The secrets, comfort, and joy
When my ear catches
The first sounds of the day
I'm traveling a different route,
Where I became aware
Of a dark alley,
A strange detour of failure
And I became silent...
One moment I know how,
Then suddenly uncertainty,
As I look at my shoes
And hear the laughs
Of the shadows,
Their laugh of victory
As I press on
I felt my knees get weak,
My gaze turned blurry,
But in me a steadfast hope
Fights against fainting,
Stirred up as I endure
As I reached out to trust
I kept a firm grip
On the rope of grace
Held on to the bars of joy...
I am not forsaken!
I press on!
I am waiting,
cause my help comes during
the early morning hour!

Authors note:
I’ve received an urge to write about the negative F words and I started with “Failure”. I realized that unlike the praise poetry last year, I am struggling to give utterances during my season of ” Joy”.
The above poem is about fainting and what I experienced within the first term at our school where I am a teacher. Not because of the learners or workload, but because of the spiritual battle!
All I had to do and even presently, is to trust and to lean on His words.

And I think I have to dive deeper into “.. the shade on your right hand.”
