1. Introduction

We all fall short!Failure will always be part of our lives, but it should not determine our outcomes, our character and must certainly not be allowed a place  in our hearts.

However, I am referring to constant roadblocks of failure, pulling us off just as we are on our journey.

When we are in Christ, we are being characterized as ” more than conquerors” and overcomers.

  “for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again…”

Proverbs 24:16

When we fail, we do not settle for failure. Failure does not define our character and amid weakness, we declare that we are strong; amid failure, we declare that we are succeeding.No Compromises!

“All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”

Romans 8:28

A Declaration against negative F-Words

I sat down with my journal, in the early morning, asking and waiting upon God, for a strategy to fight failure. Whilst waiting, I kept myself busy writing scripture and working on new projects in my prayer journal.

I keep my mind busy in the waiting, resting and trusting in the Lord.

And then my eyes were fixed on Psalm 46 and I turned it into a declaration.

1God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 

3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. 

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. 

5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. 

6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. 

7 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. 

8 Come and see what the LORD has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 

9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. 

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” 

11 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

3. Coming on board

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

Clearly, God has a plan for our lives and His word says that the good work He began in us, He will finish.

I came across this article –How to Accept God’s Plan For Us When His Plan Seems Hard, and what touched me deeply was a comment from a reader. It made me think of how difficult the antagonistic voices in this season make it for breakthrough and trusting God, no matter the silence.

Sometimes it is a process that we have to go through, trusting God; but it could also be an evil plot of the devil against our lives to stop us from our destiny. Trusting and searching God for revelation and clarity might seem like an exhausting journey, but the fountain of truth will erupt and refreshment will flow into our lives.

“being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”(Philippians 1:6)

4. Power Tools

If the enemy has been setting us up for failure, we will surely need power tools to take a stand and pull down the billboards of failure.

For the Spirit of God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

(2 Timothy 1:7)

Fueling our thoughts with the word of God will set our eyes on the things above and will help us to set up new billboards by faith, helping us to settle for true joy instead of discouragement.

Prophetic Prayer journaling became a great power tool in my hand and it also became a tracker of my Bible studies, favorite verses, revelation, my relationship with the Lord, and prayer.

5. Conclusion

I’ve been prompted by Holy Spirit to write down failure in my journal, and I was a bit hesitant! I don’t want this word to even reflect in my journal! But I trusted God and put pen on pieces of paper…..this is where this post comes from. I realized that there are issues about this topic that I have to deal with; not just me but also on behalve of my family.

As you can see from the picture above, I did not even want to write out the word, failure. I decided to cut out a big F from an old magazine and contrast it with power-punch scriptures.
