Rookie Journaling Activities for November

People start to engage in journaling for different reasons. Some only do it for fun and to have a hobby, but others engage in it because they are looking for a way out of difficult situations. Others might be interested in journaling for a fresh start and a new perspective. Well, whatever the reason, it is worth the try!

I know! I’ve been here! Where do I start? How to go about it? Surfing Pinterest!

So many young disciples start well in their faith journey, full of energy, taking part in activities that satisfy them and only a few seek God’s heart and will for their lives. Well, most of us start with “what pleases me.” Isn’t it all about seeking the kingdom of God first?

This post is written for rookies, mature or young:

  • who have decided to try something new
  • Who are young believers
  • Looking for ways to grow in their walk with God
  • Who wants to seek the kingdom of God first
  • Who wants to pray after God’s heart
  • Who wants to be consistent

1. Try out a theme

Journaling with a theme is super exciting and interesting. It gives great insight into the topic and broadens your understanding.

1.1 Gather applicable scriptures on the theme

A theme enables and directs specific bible studies and memorizing of Bible verses.

These scriptures can also be used to do a scripture verse study or use in a mnemonic.

What is a mnemonic?

Something intended to assist the memory, as a verse or formula.(Dictionary)

A very short poem or a special word is used to help remember something. (Cambrigde)

The Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you…

Numbers 6:25

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 1:5

Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

Daniel 12:3

1.1.3 Transform verses into doodles

2.Anounce your month

Allocate a whole page to announce your month. Use drawings, writings, little envelopes, or pockets to make it interesting.

It is also an ideal space to reflect your theme.

3.Doodle the full armor of God

Diving into prophetic insight on the armor of God started with doodles for me. Along the way, I still included doodles of the armor in various posts. Bits and pieces of revelation were given unto me as I unintentionally, but inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, doodled my way through the armor of God. (Ephesians 6)

4.Write a dedication

Dedication is very special because this is where you give rather than receive. It is an action initiated by you dedicating your week, month, or any area of your life unto the Lord.

5. Write scriptural declarations

August declarations

Writing down scriptural declarations is a very effective way of boosting our prayer life and the impact of these prayers is powerful.

I started my growth journey with these prayer templates, although I kept changing them to fit my prayer needs.

6. Have fun

– Doodle different verses or through a whole book in the Bible.

– Write poetry

– design prayer -or scripture pockets

Ideas for pocket journaling

– Try out a Power Hour catch up with journaling over weekends

Poetic prayers

The key to growing our relationship with God through journaling is consistency and dedicating special times to sit down, gather your supplies, and open your books!

God is eagerly awaiting us to teach us and to reveal to us our purpose and His plans for our lives and those around us.

Blessed November journaling
