Declutter and organize

Ask every mom or sometimes a student, teacher, or teen, clutter can be quite a health hazard! Clutter also can clog our creativity and sometimes we are searching for something right under our noses!

Clutter puts our eyes in places of dark shadows.

Now , anyone can design, compile or buy a journal! But I’m a maker ,an inventor and like to add my own style and to recycle items for journaling.Journaling is not just about writing prayers, but also setting up organisational methods for the resources of the different journaling activities.

These journaling activities may be:

  • Writing dedications and other different types of prayer.
  • Worship poems
  • Visual Bible studies
  • Scripture Doodling
  • Prophetic drawings
  • Monthly Themes
  • Bible reading trackers
  • Special assignments
  • Fasting

I started with decluttering my prayer journal desk right about the time of my blog’s birthday! Why at this time? More about this another time!

I started by putting together a journal decluttering checklist.

You can get it here👇

With everything sorted, an new task was at hand :Storing and organizing. I created different ways for storing all the things I decided to keep.

1.Resource File

One of the items became my journal resource file.I found this binder at our school when interns worked through all the old stuff to clear out some space.I did not know what to do with it, but kept it anyway.

An old file

What I needed

  • 1️⃣ An old file or flipbook
  • 2️⃣ glue
  • 3️⃣ a printed cover
  • 4️⃣ laminate to cover
  • 5️⃣ washi-tape
  • 6️⃣ resources
  • 7️⃣ paper to make mini- pockets to keep resources
  • 8️⃣ An old book
Front Cover

2.Mini-pockets

On the inside of the book, I created different sizes of mini-pockets and pasted them on every page. Some pockets fill the whole page for larger content.

On the inside of these mini-pockets I store patterns, paper of cuts, notes, quotes, etc.

This file has a lot more space to use but even though resources are stored in the file, it should still be organized.

Other space saving ideas

Make a  mini- pocket journal in 15 minutes:

Just take any old book, fold the pages and use some creativity and put whatever you want in your pockets. Even easy for a children’s craft idea!

These pockets can even be used to store scriptures inside of your journal. Saving more space to write! I simply write my journal entry verses on scripture cards.

Decluttering creates more space to use and more creativity to be birth. If you have a small space, decluttering will definitely make it feel more spacious.

A neat space to welcome Holy Spirit in your early morning .
