Power Prayer Journaling Session

As a working mom, I have quite a lot to deal with before heading off to work or spending time on my blog.

A morning routine is essential for a working individual or parent .

When I started prayer journaling, my prayer life was not in a good space; I was not consistent. I had bad habits like sleeping when God wants me to pray at night or during the early morning. That is why I wrote about getting rid of bad habits.I did not engage in Bible reading as I do now.

1. I awake at 5 am, eager to get into my morning session, Dealing with the last few yawns, curious to hear about my day and what Holy Spirit planned for us, listening and I put on the kettle.

6. Putting on my wetsuit and plunge into prayer journaling.🤓
7. Refresh during the 6 am morning watch receiving strength for my daily task, praying for the body of Christ, healing, my family, and accepting my kingdom assignment.

Activating my Power Day

Last week I had a strong urge to resist and I prepared a journal entry about resistance training and two days later I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to create a power day journal entry. So I compiled a few scriptures and declared them over myself and my day.

The prepared place

How marvelous Your ways!

How can I keep count?
Even in a hostile environment 
You,O God , prepared a place
For Your servant!
Your command my territories
Early morning as I submit 
To You O Lord, I submit!
I am watching 
How you shake the grounds ,
As you break forth
Gaining new territories,
How you set territories
For my enemy to halt.

You have spoken!

As I am writing this testimony, I shifted into worship, writing the utterance above to give praise to the Lord !

After my power session, I got ready for school and set off into my day. By now I know that there are many adversaries against my kingdom assignment at my school where I am a teacher and mentor of the student council ( Grade 7). Previously, during an 8 am prayer session in class (We start our school day with Bible reading and prayer), we read the story of Peter walking with Jesus on water and we realized that God also invites us to come and walk with Him above the current situation the Coronavirus had molded our school in to.

The setting

I am teaching at a formerly white school where there were only whites. It was only during the 90s that the school was forced to take in other races as well.

The situation

The whole school assembled to welcome the new prefects of 2021.

The conflict

The person in charge had a certain idea of handling and acting. Me too. We are all different! Allow me to be me! I felt how the heat of the silent judgment touched me and I offered a quick prayer, like Nehemiah.

The resolution

I stepped forward and felt the warmth, courage, and encouragement of the Holy Spirit stirring in me. I addressed the crowd and stepped up , higher than my opposition.

In the prepared place, a score is settled for the servant of the Lord, for I shall not lack courage and favor. The Lord has made my feet like hind’s feet!

I could only resist opposition and strongly stepped forward, because of a powerful prayer session during the early hours of the morning. It is during this time that we command every situation to come into alignment with God’s kingdom assignment for our day.
