What sound is coming from your dwelling?

Prayer Journaling

We’re living in times of many turmoil and anxiety, causing many to fall into the pit of hopelessness. If the shouts of the warriors do not reach the oppressed, their eyes and minds cannot be freed of this oppression. This makes me think Of the story of the Lion King. Although he was small, he had the status of kingship; but his roar needed to be developed. Eventually, he could scare their enemies away and brought hope into the hearts of the jungle community.

God is searching for a voice to call out in the wilderness.

Although we live in the natural, there is a spiritual space to occupy in the supernatural. Life is spiritual! We should not be structuring our lives around the visible realm but according to the divine and unseen plans of God for others and ourselves. For someone not standing in a relationship with Him and shallow Christians, this might be very challenging, but it can also be their weapon of breakthrough! It all can be changed with a sound coming from your heart and spirit!

An outcry for deliverance, for healing, for change, for divine intervention…for help! No need for educated words, but easy, authentic dialogue, coming from deep inside of us.

How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of Heaven’s Armies.

Psalm 84:1

your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:10

Defeating hopelessness with your warcry

The spirit of hopelessness is feeding on the negativity we provide, to suppress us from entering the promises of rest, success, health and favor. It builds up a wall to stop our inheritance of our God , to reach us and channel it away from us leaving us feeling hopeless.

But it can be demolished with an utterance of faith!

Hopelessness was the war cry of the Philistines for 40 days, mocking the Israelites and making their God looks weak. Then comes David, a young boy appeared on the scene and countered the enemy’s battle cry! Its all about a battle! An unseen battle trying to take us down only to say: “If there is a God”…or , “There is no God!”

Through your battle cry, you bring confussion on the enemy and silence them permanently. As David stepped out to face Goliath, he was confused about the strategy of God, because it was not King Saul’s strategy, but God’s! Carnal minds cannot understand God’s spiritual strategies and plans and see them as foolish.

Your battle cry weakens the strategies of strong enemies and causes it to be ineffective, shaking its foundation.

Your battle cry feeds and develops your faith and boldness. Our warcry are being practised and strengthened by being in a close relationship with the Lord of Hosts, Jesus Christ!Long before the battle against the Philistines, David was practising and developing his war cry, prepared by God to shout victory over His enemies. And how succesfull he was in every battle! He overcame every battle! His war cry strategy was one of the reasons for his many victories in battle.

Your battle cry brings forth your faith rewards. When David overcame Goliath, his territory was enlarged and he became a hero; first for his God and then to the people. He received what the king had promised him:

The king will give great wealth to the man who kills him. He will also give him his daughter in marriage and will exempt his family from taxes in Israel.”

1 Samuel 17:25

Saul said to David, “Here is my older daughter Merab. I will give her to you in marriage; only serve me bravely and fight the battles of the LORD.”

1 Samuel 18:17

Forerunner of your faith rewards

Your battle cry also becomes the forerunner of your faith rewards, preserving it for you and disarms your enemy. When David overcame Goliath, he claimed his sword and took it to the temple.

Where does prayer journaling fit in?

Prayer journaling is an effective way especially for those who struggle with being consistent in prayer and who find it difficult to move away from bad habits. It became a tool or strategy to train, practice, and develop my warcry. Every morning I get up to get into my assignment of the day and spend time with God. Prayer journaling took me from prayer chores to daily excitement!
