The power in kindness

A productive life

Galatians 5:20

But the fruit of the Spirit
is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness...

Definition

An attribute of God and quality desirable but not consistently found in humans.

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32).

Definition

The quality of compassion and generosity, characteristic of God’s dealings towards the weak and poor, and demanded of believers.

Kindness is the one attribute that is mostly needed when people are weak, in need, lost, or overwhelmed in life. Even the smallest act of kindness can warm a heart and make a huge difference.

Kindness asks us :

  • To be loving
  • To be tenderhearted
  • To forgive
  • To give
  • To motivate each other
  • To lend a helping hand
  • To be friendly
  • To act on a good motive
  • To help from the heart
  • To listen
  • Just to be there

Kindness can be seen in :

  • A cup of tea
  • A warm hug
  • To hand over a couple of papers
  • To get out of a chair for someone else who needs comfort more.
  • A smile
  • Helping to carry my hurt
  • Kind advice in a difficult situation
  • Words of encouragement.
  • A question: How are you?
  • A short visit
  • Honest prayer

True kindness can only come from God. It cannot be measured in worldly terms. It will overrule any kind of bitterness so people can easily forgive. True kindness does not allow grudges to get a grip on our hearts and allow us to live in freedom.
