Fruit of the Spirit crafts

Galatians 5

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control.
Against such things,
there is no law.

Homeschooling or even children’s ministry can be dull without any crafts. What a great way to teach children about basic – and important principles of God’s word using art with mixed medium pom-poms.

I’ve been pondering on the fruit of the spirit idea for some time now and I wasn’t sure of my angle until I’ve decided on the crafty way.

The advantages of poms in smaller craft ideas.

  • They’re sweet and soft to touch
  • They’re promoting stronger fine motor skills because of all the hand- and finger involvement.
  • Enhancing sensory skills of children
  • Keep children interested in the lesson
  • It helps the brain to link the principle of the lesson to an object that helps kids to remember.
  • Learning creative skills
Love is patient and kind.
1 Corinthians 13

LOVE – a pom-pom craft

I cut a piece of card as a basis to glue the letters on. Then I used bamboo sticks to cover the cardbox.

Then I glued the letters onto the bamboo stick spacing it the way I wanted it.

I used some mini paper – and woolen poms and mini-paper roses to decorate the letters.

I glued the different poms onto the letters .

Cutting and Decorating the letters can be quite a job. Dividing children into groups with specific tasks preferably and then everyone can join the fun.

1 John 4

16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

Love to create 💞

  1. Another great idea! My girls like to craft when I read aloud to them in the mornings. This would be a great project they could work on during that time, and one we could use to decorate our home classroom.
