Ideas to spice up your relationship with God

How creative worship can inspire you

Since I starting blogging, it felt like entering a whole new season. My relationship with God became more intense and I am writing mostly from personal experience.

I am challenging myself, setting myself goals in various areas of my life. David was a man to God’s heart because he had a very colorful way of worship. Who said we as children of God (John 1:12) have to be dull and no fun at all? We are children born out of grace through Christ who made us free from the law. (Romans 7:4)

When we are in a relationship with God through Christ, we need to evaluate our relationship level and activities; just like a married couple must keep the fire burning in their marriage.

1.Start worship dance

Exodus 15:20

Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.

Dancing is a creative form of expressive worship and adoration. This form of worship, as seen from the scripture, is not restricted to gender. Choreographing your moves, aligning them with the word of God can be great fun and exciting.  Choreographing your dance accordingly will be an extended way of meditating on the word of God.

Dance releases our joy, appreciation, adoration, victory and the power of our God.

2.Journaling

I did not realize it, but journaling took my relationship with  God to a deeper level of intimacy. I would have never thought that it would be made me more organized and enthusiastic. Journaling became a prayer experience enclosing all my weekly- and daily encounters and conversation. It literally became my Warroom.

4.Doodling

Who would’ve thought doodling can add value to your relationship with God? That’s just it! We are in a relationship with God through His son, Jesus Christ. Therefore, like any relationship, why not make it special?

Doodling is another great way to memorize scripture and biblical meditation, pondering on the word of God.

Tips to effective doodling

  • Incorporate doodling in your Bible study dates
  • Create gift cards with Bible scripture doodles
  • Doodle through the chapters of a book in the Bible
  • Doodle on a theme ,for eg.healing, promises of God, deliverance, etc.

3.Bible reading dates

Silly me! I decided to use a tracker to set Bible reading dates. I used to find it quite disturbing for not spending quality time reading God’s word daily. Now I find it extra special and enjoy it so much, I must drag myself from this.

4.Scripture collages

This one is my newest Holy Spirit creation. After finishing a Bible study, I got the idea of summarizing the chapter and did not want to do it the old way. So I came up with the idea of a collage using keywords from the chapter.

Spending special times with God, turn out as a great reward in my life. I grow, I love, experience from the Spirit’s well of unlimited grace.
