Staying positive in difficult and uncertain times

Positivity is a powerful force that has the ability to look beyond the dark clouds We are constantly facing times threatening our inner strength and positivity. Right through our day, we are tempted to give in to negativity through our own thoughts and words as well as loads of those of others too.

Sometimes we are in the company of very negative people and we choose to be quiet and submit to this spirit- let it do all the talking, spreading the cloud of darkness even further!

What is behind positivity?

If positivity is a driving force, then there must be something powerful behind it. Motivational pictures and inspiring quotes on your wall will only last for a limited time and will eventually fade away. I am thus referring to the power of positivity through God’s word, through hope, and faith.

What made Caleb and Joshua’s report different than all the other scouts who went together?

The truth is, they all came with the same report but handled it differently. The other scouts’ report was substantiated by fear and caused havoc amongst the people.

Numbers 13

31 But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!” 32 So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites:

This power in this negative report was so intense that it made the Israelites rebelled and turned them against their leaders and God.

Numbers 14

1. Then the whole community began weeping aloud, and they cried all night. Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron. “If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” they complained.

But luckily for the leaders, Caleb and Joshua turned the negative report into a positive one, in hope and faith.

Numbers 14

Two of the men who had explored the land, Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, tore their clothing. They said to all the people of Israel, “The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land!

Positive people can make life so much easier for their superiors, at work, or elsewhere.

  • Positive people can bring change.
  • They can bring hope and strength to those waiting on an outcome.
  • Such persons are a great blessing in any company or elsewhere.
  • They seem to make the waiting period worth waiting for.
  • Their noble words shed some light on a situation.
  • Their influence leads to victory.
  • They lead others to inherit the promises of God for their lives.
  • Positive people are not selfish, but constantly considering others.
  • They strive for unity.
  • They can kill any giant because of their courage.
  • They agree and align with God’s word

Luke 6

45 The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good…

Develop a counter-strategy

1.Start evaluating your thinking patterns.

2.Ask God to help you to identify these patterns in your life.

3.Write down your thoughts and actual words.

4.Write out a positive outcome for each negative feed.

5.Replace each pattern with scripture renouncing every negative thought and word. Very Important!

6.Make your plan visible.

7.Monitor your progress.

8.Be honest

Take Action!
