Monday Motivational:The power of perseverance in faith

Pressing forward

Perseverance reminds me of patience, to keep going while waiting for a breakthrough. It refers to an act of moving forward in spite of failed attempts or difficulties being experienced.

I had a very difficult pregnancy with my oldest son, but I had to persevere in faith only. This type of hardship I experienced did not test my physical abilities, but my faith. I carried my son in the womb and gave birth through faith. When they told me it is an abruption, faith kicked in and I stood firmly, believing God for his life, although I heard his heart beating softer. At this stage I was weak, losing my conscious and today my son is alive and 17 years old.

Definition of Perseverance

Continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or oppositionthe action or condition or an instance of persevering

A word a similar meaning is:

Steadfast (Meriam Webster)

firm in belief, determination, or adherence

The visitor called:Doubt

Doubt is the one enemy that tries to put strongholds on our minds, just enough to make us throw in towel and working very hard to keep us on that side of the line. It is totally in contradiction with who God says we are. We have to discern doubt very quickly and stop it !

Why is perserverance in faith different?

  • It enables me to see the strength in God’s promises.
  • My faith walk grows stronger and moves to a new level.
  • It requires a positive mindset and speech no matter how dark and hopeless things might seem.
  • Perseverance through faith gives birth to miracles!
  • It strengthens your heart.

Declarations I make when I feel like giving up.

Phillipians 1 : 6

6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

My God will finish what He has started in me.

Galatians 6

9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

I will not become weary because I will soon reap a harvest.I will not give up.

Philippians 4:13

I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength

There is nothing I cannot do for Christ strengthens me to do all things.

Conclusion

To endure difficult times shapes our character and give birth to new and worthwhile possibilities. Faith through Christ Jesus birthed many true and precious incidents in my life.
