Getting ready for change- PART 1
There are so many different spices to choose from, for every occasion and dish. Some spices are being used to flavor dishes, others to garnish. There are even spices that go nicely with specific seasons! A skilled chef or mom knows just how to combine them and where.

1.Discerning your season
My daughter and I are currently challenging ourselves at the hand of God’s Word to grow into the person He wants us to be. We realized now how stubborn and ignorant we actually are, but luckily for us, God is very patient.
She is experiencing a sluggish mood and tried to resist it, thinking that it is probably a set of Satan attacking her. Desperately she asked the Lord to explain to her why she felt this way and walked outside for fresh air. When outside she was drawn to the pink blossoms on the peach tree and then God spoke: “It is because of the season you’re in.”
Luke 12
54 He said to the crowd: “When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does.55 And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. 56 Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?
It is our responsibility to discern the seasons in our lives. When walking closely with God we should be able to recognize the different seasons in our lives. Seasons determines our actions and feelings.
2.Making seasonal changes
Every natural season endures the last footsteps of the old season fading. Here in our region, it is spring already, but we are still keeping our coats close. So spring still has to accommodate the cold and misty feel of winter, but we do know one thing for a fact: It is a new season and we have to make preparations.

Ecclesiastes 11:4-6
4. Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds; those who look at every cloud will never harvest crops. 5 You don’t know where the wind will blow, and you don’t know how a baby grows inside the mother. In the same way, you don’t know what God is doing, or how he created everything. 6 Plant early in the morning, and work until evening, because you don’t know if this or that will succeed.
When entering the summer, we put away most of our winter clothing and other related items to make room for the new as this new season has its own demands and offers. And this brings me to the next activity:
3.Reflect

Entering a new season of our lives will not be embraced without reflecting, remembering the trials as well as beautiful moments of deliverance from such trials; not to mention all the valuable lessons we’ve learned.
In each season our character is uniquely developed and matured, so it becomes easier to adapt to challenging times in our lives. God prepares us to adapt to our new spiritual season to be able to be prosperous and more productive.
We learned not to make the same mistakes and our past mistakes can become first-hand advice to others.
We are being seasoned when encountering specific life events during different spiritual seasons.
Reflecting gives us closure and a clearer vision when entering a new period.
Personally, I experience reflecting more like a healing process, correcting and admitting my mistakes. It gives me ammunition to prepare a gameplan for my new season.
It becomes the closure of my old season, but a window to the new.
