Preparing for a heavenly presentation

The petition of Esther , the presenter.

In the series about Esther, the strategist, I compiled Part 1 ,2, and 3 to get a glimpse at Esther’s first big task. I actually get a feeling that although she was already inaugurated as the queen, this part of the story activated her heavenly position and godly power. This week I am writing about her as a presenter, her presenting skills, and how she petitioned the request of their enemy, Haman.

Analyzing Petition and Presentation

What is a petition ?

The Dictionary describes it as follows :

1.a formally drawn request, often bearing the names of a number of those making the request, that is addressed to a person or group of persons in authority or power, soliciting some favor, right, mercy, or other benefit:a petition for clemency; a petition for the repeal of an unfair law.

2.a request made for something desired, especially a respectful or humble request, as to a superior or to one of those in authority; a supplication or prayer: a petition for aid; a petition to God for courage and strength.

My understanding is that it is a request made unto a higher power who needs to approve it and that it should be lawfully supported.

Believers can use this strategy (petitioning) to seek God’s mercy or favor in specific situations where you get down in prayer, seeking His guidance, and compile a written prayer request.

In the book of Psalms, we find many petitions, pleas written to God from David, asking for God’s help and direction. God is always present to respond to earnest requests for strength, protection, wisdom, and deliverance from evil.

What is a presentation?

Dictionary

1.the giving of something to someone, especially as part of a formal ceremony.”

I believe there are other slightly different definitions, describing the same act.

We know very well that a presentation should be carefully planned and every word is handpicked and considered twice, not to mention all the time that goes into it.

Compilation and outcome of a presentation

With a presentation, we want to make a good impression on someone or a group of people. You need to be absolutely ready to present your substantiated idea or request. It needs to be thoughtfully planned and has to tell that you are confident.

Hebrews 4:16

16 Therefore, let us confidently approach the throne from which God gives grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need.

Conclusion

With the prayer of petition, we present to God our earnest prayers to seek his mercy, protection, provision, mercy, healing and so much more. Sometimes God answers immediately, other times we should patiently and prayerfully wait. Esther waited in the courtyard after the three day fast unto God to seek the favor of her husband, the king. Clever girl, she knew very well that she first had to seek God’s favor .

Proverbs 3:4

Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.

Let us take our petitions boldly to the Lord in prayer.
