The motives of man’s heart

When I write about these events , it comes from the treasure box of the Holy Spirit.I cannot be more grateful and blessed than to have Him as my councillor.

The song echoes in my spirit as I am writing this : ” Councillor  , almighty God .Isn’t He , isn’t He , isn’t  He…”

Early  last week ,  just after eight o’clock am , someone spoke to me trying to convince me into a specific direction.I listened and responded carefully , not knowing the intentions of the other person.

Proverbs 16 : 1

The intentions of the heart belong to a man,but the answer of the tongue comes from the Lord.

I walked away and when I stepped into the isolation of my classroom  , I immediately  heard the prompting  of the Spirit :

” He is doing  it for his own benefit .” As I started meditating  on this thought I realized  that the Lord Jesus protected me from the wrongful , deceitful  intention  of this person’s  heart.

Psalm 44:21 

Would not God discover this? For he knows the secrets of the heart.

For us not to be deceived, we should be watchful  and constantly  in prayer as we spend our day amongst other.We should be able to hear the warnings of the Spirit to save us from  destruction and the evil schemes of our enemy.We will be able to discern the thoughts and intentions of man’s  heart.

Matthew 26:41

Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”

Hebrew 4 .12

… and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

I remembered how I asked the Lord in prayer that morning  to keep me from evil and not to lead me into  temptation. It payed off.
